Mauricio S. Baptista graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of São Paulo in 1990, obtained a Master in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) at the University of São Paulo in 1992 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Marquette University, USA in 1996. He did post-doctorate at UW-Madison School of Pharmacy, USA in 1997 and was a visiting professor at the Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble-France) in 2006. Is full professor of Biochemistry at University of Sao Paulo. Has scientific interest in the following subjects: photochemistry/photobiology, photodynamic therapy, sun care, redox processes, cell death, cell membranes and interfaces. Has published more than 200 scientific articles that have been cited more than 20,000 times at GS.
