Karin Aubrey is a Laboratory Head in the Pain Management Research group at the Kolling Institute and an Adjuct Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. She completed her thesis under the supervision of Prof. Rob Vandenberg at the University of Sydney and was an EU Marie Curie fellow with Dr. Stephane Supplisson at Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris. The Aubrey lab uses electrophysiological, opto- and chemogenetics, vector-mediated tracing, and behavioural approaches to understand the neural circuits that drive our responses to pain and enhance the mechanistic frameworks needed to develop new pain-relieving medications.
