Dr Peter Lau is a medical oncology clinician-scientist with a focus on melanoma, breast cancer and immuno-oncology. Dr Lau is a medical oncologist at Hollywood Private Hospital, Linear Clinical Research and Royal Perth Hospital, alongside a research position as the Translational Immuno-Oncology Fellow at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. He previously served as a consultant in the Melanoma & Skin Unit at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, where he also completed a laboratory-based PhD in melanoma investigating mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy and adoptive cell therapy.
Dr Lau has more than a decade of experience spanning melanoma research, clinical trials and translational research. He is the clinical lead of Australia’s first locally manufactured GMP tumour-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy program for melanoma and Chair of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia’s Advanced Cancer Therapies in Oncology (ACTiON) Working Party.
